Professor Keigo Kuchida

Dr. Keigo Kuchida, MIJ director and Professor at Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine in Hokkaido Japan

Dr. Kuchida is the leading expert in the Meat Image Japanese (MIJ) grading camera. This device reduces human error by providing an objective view of the carcass. Images are taken from the cut ribeye surface and predict marbling score, marbling fineness, ribeye area, fat color, meat color, and BMS grade. This technology is still new to the U.S., however, has been extensively used in both Japan (country of origin) as well as Australia. Commercial level technology is upon us – learn more about the benefits that the MIJ carcass camera can provide for your operation!
